This is bug fix release for 4.0, with minor improvements.

There are:

  • Advanced XSD support. Now you can specify supplementary test XML file and use it for preview and other purposes.
  • FOP 1.0 profiles support. Specify as much FOp config files as you need, and XSLfast will able support it for previews.
  • Performance. Now huge XML and XSD files works more efficient and needs less memory.
  • New UI fixes and improvements
  • Editor dialogs now expandable
  • Custom names for tabs
  • More detailed progress bars
  • Many bug fixes.

New version will be available in few days.

Hi,
i'm a database developer, but as system administrator for a student administration tool, i also use XSLFast 4.0.1.
I tried to use the FOP 1.0 engine for previews in XSLFast.
I have to, because the producer of the system replaced FOP0.95 by FOP1.0.
I do not understand, how to use FOP 1.0 in XSLFast.
Do i have to install the FOP-package, as described in the Help-document?

But there is already a directory 'C:\Programme\xslfast\401\lib\FOP_1.0\lib'?
So what does it mean, when there is said 'replace the lib/FOP directory in the XSLfast installation'?
The Apache FOP 1.0 package include a directory fop-1.0/lib. So which directory do i have to replace?

Or is there somewhere an option button in XSLFast 4.0.1 that determines the use of FOP1.0?

Any help will be welcomed.

kind regards,
L.Miekley,

Hi! To replace FOP 0.95 with FOP 1.0 you need to make the following steps:
1) Download binary FOP package from http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/download.html
2) Extract the archive to somewhere say newFOP folder
3) Copy newFOP/fop-1.0/ contents to <xslfast folder>/lib/FOP_1.0 (confirm replace)
4) Place newFOP/fop-1.0/build/fop.jar to <xslfast folder>/lib/FOP_1.0 also (confirm replace)
That's it, you should now have FOP 1.0 enabled in XSLfast.
The new versions of XSLfast already have FOP 1.0 enabled.
