Hi,
I am a Grails Newbie and saw somewhere that the Google App Engine supports running Groovy and Grails (with some limitations).
Will Weceem be runnable on Google App Engine? I think it would be an extremely usefull feature as it will provide a new platform to run on which is essentially free for low-bandwith, low memory usage.
Best regards
Fridz

We would love to have Weceem run on the App Engine, however the current Grails support is very limited. In our case, it is the GORM support that does not allow to run Weceem on the Google App Engine.
I assume that this will improve over the next couple of the month and we will try to run Weceem on the App Engine then.
Best Regards,

Hi Stephan,
With the release of the AppEngine GORM Plugin http://grails.org/blog/limcheekin/AppEngine+GORM+Plugin+Released, is there any chance that Weceem will be ported to GAE?
Thanks

Yes, I think that this bring GAE a lot closer.
Marc Palmer was at the Groovy & Grails eXchange 2009 that was in London last week and some people where talking about Weceem on the GAE, so there might be other, who also want to try it out.
However we are currently working on 0.8 and that is all about Grails 1.2 final, Node level security, performance/caching and bugs. The release after 0.8 we will focus on the blog and wiki functionality and we won't have time for GAE before that is done.

To my knowledge there still isn't full support for GORM dynamic methods and criteria queries in Google App Engine.
Until that time, we can't support App Engine. Weceem is built around GORM and uses most of its features.
